Revenue & the room

Table Turns & Capacity Calculator

What is the ceiling on this room, and how close am I getting to it?

Before you spend on marketing, find out whether the room can even seat the guests you are trying to attract. Turn time is the whole cycle: seated, served, paid, cleared, reset.

Your numbers

Pre-filled with a worked example so you can see how it behaves. Type over any field with your own figures. Nothing you enter is sent anywhere.

The answer

How this is calculated
Turns per seat = (service hours × 60) ÷ turn time in minutes
Maximum covers = seats × turns per seat
Capacity used = actual covers ÷ maximum covers × 100
What this does not tell you
  • Real utilisation well below 100% is normal and not a failure. Party size mismatch alone costs most rooms a meaningful share of their seats.
  • Cutting turn time raises the ceiling but can cut average check. Test both together before pushing service faster.
